The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Die-cut two LG Basic Beginnings Lacing Square using blue cardstock or construction paper.
  2. Cut four 7" lengths of blue embroidery thread.
  3. Cut eight 2" x 1/2" rectangles using white paper. Write Summer, Fall, winter and Spring on two each of the rectangles.
  4. Die-cut two LG Snowflake #2 using white paper. Place a thin layer of glue on the top of each Snowflake. Sprinkle glitter on the Snowflakes and allow to dry.
  5. Adhere 1" of an embroidery thread to the non-glitter side of a Snowflake. Adhere the other Snowflake, sandwiching the thread between the two Snowflakes (Figure A).
  6. Attach one Winter rectangle to the thread just above the Snowflake. Adhere the other Winter rectangle, sandwiching the thread between the two rectangles.
  7. Die-cut two LG Clouds using white paper. Add highlights using chalk or crayons.
  8. Adhere 1" of a thread to a large Cloud. Adhere the other large Cloud, sandwiching the thread between the two Clouds.
  9. Adhere and align the smaller Clouds to the front and back of the large Cloud (Figure B).
  10. Attach one Fall rectangle to the thread just above the Clouds. Adhere the other Fall rectangle, sandwiching the thread between the two rectangles.
  11. Die-cut two LG Raindrops using blue paper. Add highlights using chalk or crayons.
  12. Adhere 1" of a thread to the large Raindrop. Adhere the other large Raindrop, sandwiching the thread between the two Raindrops.
  13. Adhere and align the smaller Raindrops to the front and back of the large Raindrop (Figure C).
  14. Attach one Spring rectangle to the thread just above the Raindrops. Adhere the other Spring rectangle, sandwiching the thread between the two rectangles.
  15. Die-cut two LG Basic Beginnings Suns using yellow paper. Add highlights using chalk or crayons.
  16. Adhere 1" of a thread to one Sun. Adhere the other Sun, sandwiching the thread between the two Suns.
  17. Attach one Summer rectangle to the thread just above the Sun. Adhere the other Summer rectangle, sandwiching the thread between the two rectangles.
  18. Pull 1" of a thread through each corner hole of the Lacing Square and attach (Figure D). Adhere the other Lacing Square, sandwiching the threads between the two Squares.
  19. Cut four 9" lengths of thin white ribbon. Tie a ribbon to each middle hole in the Square.
  20. Pull up all four ribbons so they are the same length and tie in a knot. This will be the holder for the seasonal mobile (see Main Photo).
