Lace an Apple and see how apples add up.

Use a Lacing Apple to practice fine motor skills and introduce basic addition concepts.

Lacing dies can serve many purposes in addition to the reinforcing of fine motor skills. This teacher and students can add or remove Tiny Apples to demonstrate basic addition and subtraction. Use lacing dies to support any curriculum area.
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Chalk, Crayons, Glue, Pens (Colored), Scissors, Yarn
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut XL Lacing Apple using red and green cardstock or construction paper.
- Leave the red Apple whole. Cut the leaf from the green Apple and adhere to the red Apple.
- Die-cut six TY Apples using light green paper. Use chalk, crayons or colored pencils to add highlights.
- Cut four thin 1" strips of black paper for the plus and equal signs.
- Adhere the tiny Apples and the math signs to the red Apple (see Main Photo).
- Cut a 3' length of black yarn for each student which will be used for lacing the Apple.
