Introduce students to one another with this fun ice-breaker activity! Students complete their personal cards and exchange with up to three other students. The teacher allows time for the student to briefly take turns talking about their interests with individuals in their group. After the activity, students share something special about one of the students they have met through this activity.
Supplies Used: White-Core Cardstock, construction paper, glue, sandpaper, scissors
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Cut an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of plain blue or textured paper and fold in half.
- Cut a 4" x 5" piece of white-core, red-colored cardstock.
- Place the red paper in the largest Textured Impressions folder and emboss using the Solo Platform, Sizzix Cutting Pads and Textured Impressions folder in the AllStar SuperStar Machine. The diagrams on the Solo Platform & Shim offer easy guidelines about how to make the perfect sandwich.
- Lightly sand the white-core cardstock to highlight the design. If white-core cardstock is not available, do not sand the embossed design.
- Adhere the embossed cardstock to the front of the card.
- Cut a 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of white-core, yellow-colored cardstock.
- Place this piece of paper in the Hello Friend Textured Impressions folder and emboss using the Solo Platform, Sizzix Cutting Pads and Textured Impressions folder in the AllStar SuperStar Machine. The diagrams on the Solo Platform & Shim offer easy guidelines about how to make the perfect sandwich. Mat and adhere to the front of the card.
- Write a special message and ice-breaker sentences on white cardstock. Cut to fit the inside of the card and adhere (see Main Photo).
