Create booklets highlighting fall and winter holidays.Objective:
Use creative die-cuts to decorate a folded booklet of calendar events.Recommended Grade Levels: 1-2, 3-5, Pre-K-K

K-4 Standard 1: Understanding and Applying Media, Techniques and Processes
- Students use different media, techniques and processes to communicate ideas, experiences and stories.
K-4 Standard 3: Choosing and Evaluating a Range of Subject Matter, Symbols and Ideas
- Students select and use subject matter, symbols and ideas to communicate meaning.
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Construction Paper, Pens or Pencils (Colored), Scissors, Tape (Double-Sided)
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Fold a paper in half, length-wise. Accordion fold the paper to create four pages.
- Die-cut the Fall Calendar using various colors of construction paper. Keep the main shapes whole and cut away highlights from other colors of the same shape. Layer and adhere to embellish shapes.
- Label the first page "Fall Holidays" and adhere embellished Fall shapes to each following page. Label each page with the specific month and holiday.
- Die-cut the Winter Calendar using various colors of construction paper. Keep the main shapes whole and cut away highlights from other colors of the same shape. Layer and adhere to embellish shapes.
- Label the first page "Winter Holidays" and adhere embellished Winter shapes to each following page. Label each page with the specific month and holiday (see Main Photo).
Note: Spring and Summer Books can be made as well, with corresponding dies.
