Concept:

Create a fun bulletin board for teacher's helpers.

Objective:

Use the Multi-Purpose Pockets and decorative die-cuts for a fun and friendly bulletin board organizing classroom jobs.

Recommended Grade Levels: 1-2, 3-5, 6-8

Manage the class with a personalized Classroom Helper board. Recognize student leaders responsible for managing assigned tasks. Teach citizenship, responsibility and organizational skills with class jobs. Rotate responsibilities weekly, biweekly or monthly to give each student a chance to experience a new responsibility.

Supplies Used: Board (Cork, Bulletin or Poster), Cardstock, Construction Paper, Glue, Marker (Black), Pens, Scissors, Tape (Double-Sided)

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Die-cut several Pockets from a variety of colored cardstock or construction paper. Fold along perforations and adhere to assemble Pockets.
  2. Label the Pockets with classroom jobs.
  3. Die-cut the Pen, Crayon and Quill from a variety of colored construction paper. Keep one color whole and cut away highlights from other colors. Layer and adhere to embellish the Pen, Crayon and Quill.
  4. Die-Cut the School Border from a variety of colored construction paper. Keep one color whole and cut away highlights from other colors. Layer and adhere to embellish the School Border.
  5. Attach the School Border to the cork, bulletin or poster board.
  6. Arrange and attach the Pockets to the center of the board.
  7. Write the title of the board on cardstock or construction paper, mat and attach to the board.
  8. Write student names on the Pen, Crayon or Quill and place in corresponding job pocket.
  9. Create as many Pockets, Pens, Crayons or Quills as needed for the board (see Main Photo).
