K-12 Standard 4.1: Develop Insight into the Nature of the Language and Culture
- Students demonstrate understanding of the nature of language through comparisons of the language studied and their own.
Translate the Hebrew numbers to numerical equivalents to make connections and strengthen understanding of language. Consider substituting the numerical value with tiny die-cuts so that students can count out the number to find the meaning.
Supplies Used: Butcher Paper, Cardstock, Glue, Letters (Self-Adhesive), Marker, Scissors
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Cut a 24" x 60" piece of cardstock or butcher paper for the poster.
- Cut a 3" x 56" piece of paper for the title area.
- Hand print or use self-adhesive letters for the title. Adhere the title to the top of the poster.
- Space three 12" x 18" sheets of paper on the poster and adhere.
- Die-cut Hebrew Alefbet 4" letters that correspond to their numerical value and adhere to the poster.
- Die-cut Block Number Set 3" corresponding numbers and adhere to the poster.
- Hand print or use self-adhesive letters for the titles of each letter and value.
