Ten Commandments Report

Concept:
Design a cover for a report on the Ten Commandments.
Objective:
Write a report about the Ten Commandments and reflect on how to apply the teachings to daily life.
Recommended Grade Levels: 3-5, 6-8, 9-12

Supplies Used: Construction Paper, Double-Sided Tape, Glue, Lined Paper, Scissors
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Hand or computer print the title for the report cover on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock or construction paper (Fig. A).
- Tear a 2" strip of contrasting paper and adhere to the front cover with glue, double-sided tape or other adhesive (Fig. B).
- Use another sheet of cardstock or paper for the back cover, placing lined paper between the two covers.
- Using any binding system, punch the covers and the lined paper.
- Assemble the report and place small binding discs in each opening (Fig. C).
- Hand or computer print the Ten Commandments on light gray paper. Die-cut the printed paper using the LG Tablets of Stone, keeping the words within the die-cut.
- Die-cut a second Tablets using dark gray paper.
- Leave the darker gray Tablets whole and cut along the perforations on the light gray. Layer the light gray on top of the dark gray and adhere.
- If desired, add stickers to highlight each Tablet (Fig. D).
- Adhere the decorated Tablets to the center of the cover page (see Main Photo).
