Create fun scrapbooks and journal pages that celebrate school field trips and memorable moments throughout the year. Use as a writing prompt and share with parents on Back-to-School Night or Open House!

Encourage students as they follow the writing process to explore anything from simple sentences to five-paragraph essays. These scrapbook pages can support writing exercises in all major subject areas and current events. The students may be prompted to explore any genre to express ideas. Older students can explore library resources to develop research-based writing. Second language learners can relate to given themes to develop writing skills. Through creative writing, the teacher can develop a unique classroom library featuring students as authors.
Supplies Used: Buttons, Chalk, Colored Cardstock, Colored Pencils, Construction Paper, Crayons, Patterned Paper, Ribbon
The teacher will cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Create a scrapbook page out of cardstock. Print journaling on a strip of white cardstock and adhere to page.
- Cut Phrase, Field Trip and School Bus out of cardstock using the eclips machine and School & Sports cartridge.
- Adhere cut out phrase to cardstock, trim to size and mat again on cardstock; adhere to page.
- Adhere School Bus to page and embellish with chalk, crayons or colored pencils.
- Finish by embellishing journaling strip or any paper with buttons (see Main Photo).
