Students will create personalized bags.

Physical Education: Movement Forms
K-12 Standard 1: Develop physically educated individuals who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity.

Support youngsters with fun, assembly projects to develop fine motor skills. Assembling boxes and bags promote motor skills and reinforce movement concepts in the classroom. Use ribbons and lace to expose students to multiple textures and patterns. Development of fine motor skills will enable students to gain competency in drawing and writing.
Note: The SM Flower, Daisy #2 has been retired. Consider substituting with any SM Flower to complete the project.
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Double-Sided Tape, Glue, 1/4" Hand Punch, 1/8" Hand Punch, Ribbon, RuffleBoard, Scissors, Stickers
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
Daisy Bag:
- Die-cut Bag #2 using cardstock, construction or patterned paper.
- Die-cut any small die from multiple colors of paper.
- Decorate and layer using glue or double-sided tape. To layer, leave one shape whole and cut highlights from other colors (Figure A).
- Adhere decorated die to front of Bag (Figure B).
- Fold Bag on perforation lines. Adhere with double-sided tape.
- Holding the top of the Bag together, punch two holes 1 1/2" apart near the top of the Bag (Figure C).
- Place a gift inside the Bag.
- Cut a ribbon to desired length and thread through front openings, then bring the opposite ends of the ribbon back through the holes to the front of the Bag (Figure D).
Squares and Heart Bag:
- Die-cut Bag #2 using cardstock, construction or patterned paper.
- Die-cut Squares and Heart from contrasting colors of paper.
- Adhere decorated die-cuts to front of Bag. Add stickers if desired.
- Fold Bag on perforation lines. Adhere with double-sided tape.
- Holding the top of the Bag together, punch two holes 1 1/2" apart near the top of the Bag.
- Place a gift inside the Bag.
- Cut a ribbon to desired length and thread through front openings, then bring the opposite ends of the ribbon back through the holes to the front of the Bag (see Main Photo).
Flower Sticker Bag:
- Die-cut Bag #2 using cardstock, construction or patterned paper.
- Cut a rectangle from contrasting paper and adhere to front of Bag using glue or double-sided tape.
- Adhere sticker to rectangle on front of Bag.
- Fold Bag on perforation lines. Adhere with double-sided tape.
- Holding the top of the Bag together, punch two holes 1 1/2" apart near the top of the Bag.
- Place a gift inside the Bag.
- Cut a ribbon to desired length and thread through front openings, then bring the opposite ends of the ribbon back through the holes to the front of the Bag (see Main Photo).
Hearts On Ribbon Bag:
- Die-cut Bag #2 using cardstock, construction or patterned paper.
- Fold Bag on perforation lines. Adhere with double-sided tape.
- Holding the top of the Bag together, punch two holes 1 1/2" apart near the top of the Bag.
- Place a gift inside the Bag.
- Cut a ribbon to desired length and thread through openings and tie.
- Die-cut four Tiny Hearts and glue or double-sided tape to ends of ribbon (see Main Photo).
