Encourage a healthy lifestyle and fun under the sun with sporty visors. Teach students the importance of physical activities for good health as you introduce them to different games. A sporty visor can reinforce health and fitness concepts with athletic images. Develop school spirit with names of school teams and sportsmanship with good attitude phrases. The teacher can also use the visors for a science lesson, sharing the importance of protective clothing and accessories for outdoor play.
Supplies Used: Adhesive Felt (Optional), Black and Red Markers, Cardstock, Chalk, Double-Sided Tape, Glue, Patterned Paper, Poly Foam (Optional), Rhinestones, Scissors, Thread
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut three XL Visors using colorful poly foam or Self-Adhesive Felt. If using Self-Adhesive Felt, adhere a coordinated color of cardstock or construction paper to the Felt before die-cutting (Figure A).
- Die-cut the LG Baseball #2, LG Basketball #2 and LG Soccer Ball #2 from white, black and orange paper. Leave the white Soccer Ball whole and adhere highlights from the black Soccer Ball. Use a red marker to highlight the Baseball and a black marker to highlight the Basketball (Figure B).
- Adhere the Baseball, Basketball and Soccer Ball to the Visor. Label the Visor "Good Sport." Attach Elastic Mask Strap (Figure C).
- Die-cut LG Megaphone using ecru paper. Add highlights with chalk and pen. Adhere to the second Visor and label the Megaphone with the word "Cheer." Hand cut a scallop edge using black and white pin dot paper. Attach to the Visor. Adhere rhinestones to scallop border. Attach Elastic Mask Strap (Figure D).
- Die-cut three white LG Diamonds using cardstock and adhere to the third Visor. Sew a criss-cross pattern across the visor using green thread (Figure E).
