Scalloped Thank-You Bag

Make a handmade bag to hold a thank-you gift.

Supplies Used: Construction Paper, Glue, Patterned Paper, Ribbon, Adhesive Letters, Scissors

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

1.Die-cut XL Bag #9 from orange cardstock or construction paper.

2.Die-cut the scalloped flap of the Bag #9 using coordinating plain or patterned paper.

3.Cut the patterned flap along the crease or perforated lines and adhere to the orange Bag with glue or other adhesive (Figure A).

4.Cut a 1 1/2" strip of coordinating polka dot paper, wide enough to cover the front of the Bag, and adhere (Figure B).

5.Fold the Bag along the crease or perforated lines. Use adhesive to adhere the sides.

6.Die-cut the SM Heart #1B using light orange paper. Computer print, hand print or use adhesive letters to add the phrase "thank you" along the side of the Heart.

7.Adhere the Heart to the strip of dotted paper on the front of the Bag.

8.Cut an 8" length of light orange ribbon. Tie the ribbon in a bow and glue to the front of the Heart (see Main Photo).

9.Make sure to put a special gift inside the handmade Bag!
