Bag With Ribbon

Concept:
Create and decorate a bag for any occasion.
Objective:
Students make and decorate their own bags for field trips or holiday gifts.
Recommended Grade Levels: 3-5, 6-8, 9-12
Curriculum: Fine Arts & Crafts
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Glue, Hand Punch, Matte Paper, Metallic Paper, Ribbon, Scissors, Shiny Self Adhesive Paper (Gold)
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut Bag #2 from cardstock or construction paper (Figure A).
- Die-cut two Star Borders out of shiny and matte silver paper or any contrasting papers.
- Punch holes in the matte paper, allowing the shiny paper to show through. Attach the punched Stars on top of the other Stars with glue (Figure B).
- Cut 3" strips from contrasting colors and attach to open Bag, alternating colors.
- Adhere Star Borders to Bag, using pop dots on one for added depth.
- Fold Bag on perforations and adhere tab to side using double-sided tape. Also tape bottom of Bag (Figure C).
- Pinch top of Bag together (Figure D) and punch two holes near the top.
- Thread 8" ribbon through holes and tie, after inserting gift (see Main Photo).
