Concept:
Make a poster showing the country of Israel.
Objective:
Illustrate and discuss the location of the country of Israel.

Standard 1: Understanding and Applying Media, Techniques and Processes
- K-4 - Students use different media, techniques and processes to communicate ideas, experiences and stories.
- 5-8 - Students intentionally take advantage of the qualities and characteristics of art media, techniques and processes to enhance communication of their experiences and ideas.
Standard 3: Choosing and Evaluating a Range of Subject Matter, Symbols and Ideas
- K-4 - Students select and use subject matter, symbols and ideas to communicate meaning.
- 5-8 - Students integrate visual, spatial and temporal concepts with content to communicate intended meaning in their artworks.
Use Ellison dies to create diagrams or displays that increase global awareness.
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Construction Paper, Dots (Adhesive), Glue, Map, Scissors
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Cut a 8 1/2" x 9 3/4" piece of cream cardstock for the poster.
- Adhere a map of Israel and the surrounding countries to the poster.
- Adhere the title to the top of the poster.
- Die-cut LG Israel using brown cardstock. Attach a small piece of blue paper behind the Sea of Galilee and adhere to the map using adhesive dots.
- Die-cut DC Border, Bethlehem Skyline using gold construction paper. Adhere to the bottom of the poster (see Main Photo).
