Concept:
Construct an Israeli Star of David flag.
Objective:
Identify and discuss the symbolism and patriotism of the Israeli flag.

Standard 3: Choosing and Evaluating a Range of Subject Matter, Symbols and Ideas
- K-4 - Students select and use subject matter, symbols and ideas to communicate meaning.
- 5-8 - Students integrate visual, spatial and temporal concepts with content to communicate intended meaning in their artworks.
Flags enable students to learn national symbols of different countries by themselves or with partners. Consider using this strategy to introduce or review lessons on history or government. This learning tool can also be used as a form of assessment. Use the Flags to supplement fun lessons in any subject area.
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Construction Paper, Glue, Scissors
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut XL Flag #1 using blue, gray and white cardstock.
- Leave the white Flag whole. Cut highlights from the blue Flag and adhere to the white Flag (see Main Photo).
- Cut the pole from the gray Flag and adhere to the blue and white Flag.
- Die-cut LG Star of David using blue paper. Adhere to the Flag (see Main Photo).
