Happy Chanukah Card

Make a simple and easy Chanukah card.

- K-4 - Students use different media, techniques and processes to communicate ideas, experiences and stories.
- 5-8 - Students intentionally take advantage of the qualities and characteristics of art media, techniques and processes to enhance communication of their experiences and ideas.
Standard 3: Choosing and Evaluating a Range of Subject Matter, Symbols and Ideas
- K-4 - Students select and use subject matter, symbols and ideas to communicate meaning.
- 5-8 - Students integrate visual, spatial and temporal concepts with content to communicate intended meaning in their artworks.
Design a card for any holiday or celebration. Make it extra special with an inspirational message inside.
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Construction Paper, Glue, Marker (Black), Paper (Silver), Scissors
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Cut a 6 1/4" x 12" piece of dark blue cardstock or construction paper. Fold in half for a card.
- Die-cut LG Star of David #2 using silver, purple and white paper. Adhere the silver Star to the front of the card.
- Adhere the purple hexagon in the center of the silver Star.
- Cut 1/8" off of each side of the white hexagon. Print the words "Happy Chanukah" on the white hexagon using the black marker and adhere to the purple hexagon (see Main Photo).
