Engage students with creative posters that inspire reading! Organize a poster contest, where students use die-cuts to create their unique posters for the classroom, school or community library.

Supplies Used: Cardstock, Construction Paper, Colored Pens, Crayons, Glue, Posterboard, Scissors

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Cut a 12x18 inch sheet of posterboard.
  2. Die-cut an XL Word, Read w/Book from multiple colors or cardstock or construction paper. Keep one shape whole and cut away highlights from other shapes. Layer and adhere.
  3. Die-cut two LG Words, Read w/Books and cut away the Books.
  4. Die-cut the Treble Clef and Tiny Notes.
  5. Place shapes on the posterboard and adhere.
  6. Write or computer generate the title and adhere to the poster.
  7. Mat the completed poster. Highlight images with colored pens or pencils to complete the project (see Main Photo).
