Concept:
Set the eclips machine to automatically create fun shapes in an assortment of sizes.
Objective:
Set the eclips machine and cartridges to fill a sheet of paper with as many shapes as possible to teach number recognition.
Recommended Grade Levels: 1-2, Pre-K-K

Math: Number Sense and Operations
Pre-K-5: Instructional programs from Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 should enable all students to understand numbers, ways of representing numbers, relationships among numbers and number systems.
- In Pre-Kindergarten through grade 2, all students should count with understanding and recognize "how many"; in sets of objects.
- In Pre-Kindergarten through grade 2, all students should connect number words and numerals to the quantities they represent, using various physical models and representations.

Guide students as they develop an association with a number and the amount of objects represented by that number. Introduce advanced students to simple addition and subtraction by adding or removing the number of sheep to determine the sum or difference. Challenged students can review counting skills and number recognition.
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Colored Pencils, Crayons, Glue
The teacher will cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Set the eclips machine and Critters cartridge to cut multiple Sheep at a time.
- Embellish the Sheep with colored pencils or crayons.
- Cut numbers using the Greek & Sassy Serif Alphabets.
- Adhere numbers to Sheep (see Main Photo).
