Create unique, patriotic thank you cards.

Objective:

Help students to show gratitude with heartfelt sentiments for our nation's heroes.

Create special thank you cards for any occasion. Recognize teachers, students, colleagues or special friends with warm, appreciative sentiments. Encourage students to express gratitude through writing.

Supplies Used: Cardstock or Construction Paper, Colored Pencils or Crayons, Glue, Patterned Paper, Pen, Scissors, Tape (Double-Sided)

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Fold a piece of blue cardstock or construction paper in half.
  2. Cut a white rectangle and adhere to the front of the Card.
  3. Cut red stripes and adhere to the white rectangle.
  4. Cut a blue square and place in upper left-hand corner.
  5. Die-cut tiny stars and place in blue square to create the flag background.
  6. Die-cut LG Paper Pal and adhere to the front of the Card.
  7. Die-cut Winter#1 clothes using patterned paper. Adhere to Paper Pal.
  8. Die-cut Hair using colored construction paper and adhere to Paper Pal.
  9. Die-cut Rain#1 shoes and adhere to Paper Pal.
  10. Highlight the card with colored pencils or crayons as desired.
  11. Add the message with a pen (see Main Photo).
