Supplies Used: Cardstock, Colored Pencils, Colored Pens, Crayons, Glue, Paper Wood, Scissors
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
Note: There are two ways to make a stand-up shape:
- Fold a 9" x 12" sheet of paper in half. Place the fold just below the topcutting edge of the die. When cut, the top will form a hinge, allowing the shape to stand up (Figure A).
- Fold a 9" x 12" sheet of paper in half. Fold back again 1/2", making a lip. Place the fold just above the bottomcutting edge of the die. Open the die-cut shape. Use glue or double-sided tape to adhere at the top edges and the inside bottom will form a platform, allowing the shape to stand up (Figure B).
Noah
- Using one of the above folding techniques, die-cut a folded LG Noah using beige cardstock or construction paper.
- Die-cut LG Noah using white and dark blue paper. Die-cut Noah's hands and sleeves using light blue paper.
- Leave the folded beige Noah whole. Cut along perforations from the white and blue papers to embellish. Adhere the highlights to the beige Noah (Figure C).
Noah's Ark Animals
- Using one of the folding techniques in Step 1 or Step 2, die-cut the folded LG Noah's Ark Animals and the folded LG Noah's Ark Animals #2 using appropriate colored cardstock or construction paper for each Animal.
- Die-cut each Animal again with a contrasting color for highlights. Adhere the highlights to each Animal.
- Crayons, colored pens or pencils may also be used for highlights (see Main Photo).

- Using one of the folding techniques in Step 1 or Step 2, die-cut the folded XL Noah's Ark using 12" x 18" light brown cardstock or construction paper.
- Die-cut the Ark using light PaperWood for the bottom of the Ark and darker PaperWood for the windows and ramp. Adhere the PaperWood to the light brown Ark (Figure D).
- Crayons, colored pens or pencils may also be used to create highlights on the Ark (see Main Photo).
Waves
- Using one of the folding techniques in Step 1or Step 2, die-cut the DC Wave Border from light blue cardstock or construction paper (see Main Photo).
