Weekly Words Spanish to English
Lesson #4488

Concept:

Create a bulletin board that displays the days of the week in both Spanish and English.

Objective:

Post the Spanish and English days of the week on a bulletin board to help students identify corresponding words and create connections between two languages.

Recommended Grade Levels: 3-5, 6-8

Curriculums: Fine Arts & Crafts, Foreign Language

Supplies Used: Butcher Paper, Cardstock, Crayons, Glue, Paper (Silver), Pens (Colored), Poster Board, Scissors

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Mat a 26" x 32" sheet of light blue butcher paper, cardstock or poster board to a 32" x 40" sheet of black paper.
  2. Die-cut DC Words, Spanish Days Set and DC Words, Calendar Days Set using various colors of paper.
  3. Adhere the Words to the poster in two columns (see Main Photo).
  4. Die-cut DC School Border using various colors of paper (see Main Photo).
  5. Leave a School Border whole and cut highlights from the other colors for each Border. Crayons or colored pens may also be used for highlights (see Main Photo).
  6. Adhere the embellished Borders around the edge of the black poster.
