Time Capsule: Favorite Books
Lesson #4951

Concept:

Students will create a time capsule comprised of favorite book titles across genre.

Objective:

Survey the class to discover favorite book titles and either share with the following year's teacher or retain as a booklist for next year's class.

Recommended Grade Levels: 1-2, 3-5, 6-8

Curriculum: English Language Arts

Create a reading time capsule filled with favorite stories read by students throughout the year. Collect the story titles in a box to be passed on to the next year's teacher for student reflection. In the fall, students can revisit the stories read and reflect on new summer reading. Be sure to retain a record of the books read and add to a growing class logbook of favorite books over the years.
