Bookmark, Shamrock

Concept:
Sandwich ribbon between pairs of Shamrock die-cuts for lucky bookmarks and gifts.
Objective:
Students will make Shamrock bookmarks for fun thematic reading and as gifts.

Supplies Used: Cardstock, Double-Sided Tape, Glue, Hand Punch 1/8", Hand Punch 1/16", Ribbon, Scissors, Self-Adhesive Felt
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut four Small and six Tiny Shamrocks using various shades of green cardstock, construction paper, patterned paper or self-adhesive felt for each Shamrock.
- Using the hand punches, punch holes in two of the Small Shamrocks. This will allow the color of the bottom Shamrock to show through (Figure A).
- Decorate and layer the Tiny Shamrocks using glue or double-sided tape. To layer, leave one shape whole and cut highlights from the other color (Figure B).
- Cut three colors of thin ribbon into desired lengths (8-10").
- Sandwich the top of three lengths of ribbon between a decorated pair of Small Shamrocks using any adhesive (Figure C).
- Attach one decorated Tiny Shamrock pair to each length of ribbon for decoration (see Main Image).
