Spring Party Cupcakes

- K-4 - Students select and use subject matter, symbols and ideas to communicate meaning.
- 5-8 - Students integrate visual, spatial and temporal concepts with content to communicate intended meaning in their artworks.
Support youngsters as they create crafty party décor for any holiday or occasion.
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Colored Pencils, Colored Pens, Decorative Hole Punches, Picks, Scissors, Tape
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut LG Bugs, Mixed from assorted colors of cardstock or construction paper.
- Leave one color whole and cut along perforated lines on other colors to add highlights (Figures A and B). Use decorative hole punches to add additional detail. Bugs could also be cut from white and students could use crayons, colored pencils or pencils to add color.
- Use tape to attach Bugs to food picks (Figure C).
- Put the sticks into cupcakes or other food treats (see Main Photo), add them to a floral display or use them on a bulletin board to provide a three-dimensional look.
