Box, Popcorn Thanks

Concept:
Pop together a unique thank you box for special occasions and birthdays.
Objective:
Students will create boxes to hold rewards and special acknowledgements.
Recommended Grade Levels: 3-5, 6-8, 9-12

Supplies Used: Cardstock, Curling Ribbon, Double-Sided Tape, Gift Card, Glue, Scissors
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut Popcorn Box using red cardstock, construction or red and white striped patterned paper.
- If using red paper, cut thin strips of white paper, cut to fit sides of Popcorn Box, and adhere with glue or double-sided tape.
- Fold Popcorn Box on perforation lines and adhere sides together (Figure A).
- Die-cut Flower #1B to create small popcorn.
- Decorate and layer Flowers using glue or double-sided tape (Figure B).
- Use light blue paper to print or computer generate the word "Thank You." Cut along the border of the word to create a rectangular label.
- Cut a slightly larger rectangle from blue paper, and adhere the word "Thank You" (Figure C).
- Adhere matted "Thank You" to the front of Popcorn Box.
- Cut thin lengths of contrasting construction paper and curl paper with edge of scissors for added interest. Place in the Popcorn Box, allowing curls to flow over sides of Box. Consider using Curling Ribbon as a suitable option.
- Place and adhere popcorn created from Flower #1B in the Popcorn Box. Add movie tickets or a gift card to the Box to complete gift (Figure D).
