Beary Fun Times Tables

Concept:

Use a teddy bear shaped activity or bingo card to practice and memorize multiplication tables.

Objective:

Reinforce multiplication facts.

Recommended Grade Levels: 3-5, 6-8

Curriculum: Math

Supplies Used: Construction Paper, Adhesive Numbers, Marking Pens, Scissors, Tape

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

1. Die-cut XL Activity Card, Teddy Bear using white, brown and tan cardstock or construction paper.

2. Cut along the outside perforated lines outlining the activity card area (Figure A) on the white Teddy Bear. Adhere to the brown Teddy Bear.

3. Put a piece of white paper behind the brown Teddy Bear's eyes and adhere with tape. Use a marking pen to add the pupils.

4. Trim along the perforated lines inside the ears, muzzle and feet of the tan Teddy Bear. Adhere to the brown Teddy Bear (Figure B).

5. Cut a small pink nose and adhere to the top of the brown Teddy Bear's muzzle (Figure C).

6. Place adhesive numbers or use a marking pen to put the times tables (0 to 4) across the top column and down the left column. Use a marking pen along the perforated lines to delineate both areas.

7. Students may work individually or as a class to complete the answers to the times tables. The chart may be used for practice and reinforcement.
