Concept:

Design fun bookmarks featuring slogans for the 2012 Collaborative Summer Library Program.

Objective:

Personalize a decorative bookmark and inspire fun reading throughout the year.

Inspire year-round reading with student-created bookmarks to suit all occasions. Create bookmarks to supplement language arts lessons, reward good behavior and academic performance or celebrate holidays.

Supplies Used: Adhesive Letters, Cardstock, Construction Paper, Glue, Scissors

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Die-cut the LG Bookmark, Star using colored cardstock or construction paper.
  2. Leave one Bookmark whole and cut away the larger Star from another Bookmark.
  3. Adhere the larger and smaller Stars to the whole Bookmark.
  4. Apply adhesive letters to complete the Bookmark (see Main Photo).
