Create a bulletin board or poster for a bicycle safety unit.
Objective:
Create helpful posters that feature safe practices and procedures to inspire healthy living.

- Students select and use subjects, themes and symbols that demonstrate knowledge of contexts, values and aesthetics that communicate intended meaning in artworks.
Develop an awareness of safety and an understanding of rules and procedures to ensure well-being, build self-confidence and ensure responsible behavior.
Supplies Used: Construction Paper, Adhesive Letters, Crayons, Glue, Markers, Scissors, Stickers
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut words for the bulletin board (Figure A).
- Die-cut multiple layers of construction paper for each decorative die. Decorate and layer using glue. To layer, leave one shape whole and cut highlights from other colors.
- Print or use Adhesive Letters for Traffic Sign words (Figure B).
- Adhere decorated dies to bulletin board, adding Grass Patch and Border Road. Decorate poster with stickers, markers or crayons (see Main Photo).
