Create flashcards for curriculum reinforcement.

Students will reinforce and practice skills using flashcards.
Recommended Grade Levels: 1-2, 3-5

Flashcards are a wonderful teacher tool for any subject area. They reinforce math concepts from basic shapes and counting to algebra and beyond. They are also great for language arts practice in the areas of letter and word recognition, grammar and vocabulary. Use any die to decorate flashcards and make them subject specific.
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Double-Sided Tape, Glue, Markers, Punch, Patterned Paper, Stickers
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut Playing Cards from construction paper or cardstock. Paper can be laminated prior to cutting for more durable flashcards (Figure A).
- Cut smaller rectangles or squares from contrasting colored paper. Adhere to Playing Cards using glue. (Figure B).
- Die-cut DC Library Card Pocket from contrasting cardstock. Fold along perforations lines and adhere tab with double-sided tape or glue.
- Decorate Playing Cards and Pocket with Tiny dies, punches or stickers (Figures C & D).
- Use a permanent marker or letters and number stickers to create flashcards for any subject area to meet curriculum needs (see Main Photo).
