Lace and learn with Lacing Apples.

Objective:

Use a Lacing Apple to practice fine motor skills and explore adjectives.

Lacing dies can serve many purposes in addition to the reinforcing of fine motor skills. This teacher and students can write fun adjectives on the apple to teach parts of speech. Use lacing dies to support any curriculum area.

Supplies Used: Colored Pens or Pencils, Cardstock, Glue, Marking Pen (Black), Yarn (Thin)

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Die-cut the Lacing Apple using red and green cardstock or construction paper.
  2. Leave the red Apple whole. Cut the leaf from the green Apple and adhere to the red Apple.
  3. Write or adhere adjectives to the center of the apple.
  4. Highlight the step with colored pens or pencils.
  5. Lace the Apple with red yarn (see Main Photo).
