Concept:

Create fun Teddy Bear puppets in seasonal clothing.

Objective:

Use Teddy Bear puppets to teach about the seasons and show how to dress for different weather conditions.

Recommended Grade Levels: 1-2, Pre-K-K

Create easy-to-create craft stick puppets for classroom plays and holiday fun. Develop oral skills and build self-esteem as students portray characters with enthusiasm and confidence.

Supplies Used: Cardstock, Colored Pencils, Crayons, Glue, Craft Sticks, Scissors

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Die-cut the Teddy Bear using multiple colors of cardstock or construction paper.
  2. Die-cut the clothing and accessories using multiple colors of cardstock or construction paper. Leave one color whole. Add highlights with additional layers cut from other colors and adhere to the whole shape.
  3. Highlight the Teddy Bear with colored pencils or crayons. Adhere the finished Teddy Bear to a craft stick (see Main Photo).
