Bunny and Ele-Copters

Concept:
Decorate fun Helicopters and watch them spin as they are dropped from any height.
Objective:
Decorate and assemble two Helicopters of different sizes and drop from a designated height to analyze the rate at which objects fall.

Supplies Used: Cardstock or Construction Paper, Colored Pencils, Crayons, Glue, Craft Sticks, Scissors
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut the XL Helicopter Activity from various colors of cardstock or construction paper.
- Decorate each shape or leave as a solid color.
- Fold sides along perforations and secure with double-sided tape (Figure A).
- Attach a paper clip to the bottom of the taped edge (Figure B).
- Fold along top perforations. Bend one blade forward and the other back (Figure C).
- Drop the die-cut shapes. Blades will spin like a helicopter propeller as the die-cut falls. Compare how the shapes fall (see Main Photo).
