Measuring Success
Lesson #9983
Concept:
Create actual measuring instruments to scale for classroom use.
Objective:
Die-cut a measurement set for each student to meet instructional and craft needs in the classroom.
Math: Measurement
Instructional programs from Pre-Kindergarten through grade 5 should enable all students to understand measurable attributes of objects and the units, systems and processes of measurement.
- In Pre-Kindergarten through grade 2, all students should recognize the attributes of length, volume, weight, area and time.
- In Pre-Kindergarten through grade 2, all students should select an appropriate unit and tool for the attribute being measured.
- In grades 3-5, all students should understand the need for measuring with standard units and become familiar with standard units in the customary and metric systems.

Create multiple measuring tools for math lessons. These dies are carefully created to scale for common use in the classroom.
Supplies Used: Cardstock, Glue, Plastic (Colored and Clear), Wood Paper
The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.
- Die-cut the Protractor, 15cm Ruler, 6" Ruler or Right Angle Triangle from multiple colors of cardstock, construction paper, wood paper or plastic.
- When using construction paper, consider adhering chipboard between two pieces of construction paper and for added durability.
- Highlight with colored pens or pencils if desired.
- Measuring tools may be laminated for lasting use (see Main Photo).
Tip:Create a class set, as these dies are to scale and can be used for any lesson.
