Create dynamic lessons about Cell Reproduction. Introduce steps of meiosis with interactive dies to help students visualize the process. During instruction, guide students as they assemble each stage of cell reproduction and demonstrate understanding. For independent practice, create flashcards with the step on one side and key concepts pertaining to that step on the opposite side. Assess learning with hands-on demonstration of concepts. Celebrate the unit with a complete cell reproduction chart outlining steps of meiosis. This unique die will help students retain complex concepts while making learning fun.

Supplies Used: Cardstock, Glue, Pen (Black)

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

1. Cut a 12" x 32" piece of cardstock or construction paper for the meiosis chart.
2. Die-cut shapes in various colors of cardstock or construction paper, as needed.
3. Assemble and adhere shapes to create each phase of meiosis 1 using DC Cell Reproduction #1 (Figure A).
4. Assemble and adhere shapes to create phases of meiosis 2 using DC Cell Reproduction #1 and LG Cell Reproduction #2 (Figure B).
5. Adhere phases to the chart according to the correct sequence of events (see Main Photo).
6. Computer or hand print the title and names for each phase on white paper.
7. Mat the title and names to a slightly larger piece of contrasting paper.
8. Attach the title to the top of the chart and the names next to each phase.
9. Add details and highlights with a black pen (see Main Photo).
