Create a felt board demonstrating different methods of transportation.
Celebrate your transportation unit with a fun learning station showcasing planes, trains, automobiles and sailboats! Invite students to place the appropriate transportation method where it belongs, be it land, sea or air. Provide positive reinforcement when students make correct matches. Lead student discussion as to why certain matches are unlikely. Use the felt board to enhance story time and allow students to create their own stories using the objects on the felt board. Create multiple transportation cut-outs for playtime and allow students to decorate their favorite vehicle to take home.
Use a felt board to demonstrate transportation by land, sea and air to help youngsters visualize the ways people move from place to place.
