Design a colorful card for Chinese New Year.



Grade Level:

Develop an appreciation of world cultures through creative projects that develop a better understanding of others. Students can explore holidays, traditions, native languages, dress and experiences of people in their local and global communities.

Supplies Used: Cardstock, Glue, Money, Scissors

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Die-cut LG Character, Friendship using black cardstock or construction paper.
  2. Die-cut LG Chinese Dragon using green and tan paper. Leave the green Dragon whole. Cut highlights from the tan Dragon and adhere to the Green Dragon (see Main Photo).
  3. Die-cut XL Envelope A7 using red paper. Fold on all perforations lines.
  4. Glue the side flaps of the Envelope to the bottom flap.
  5. Money may be used for a Chinese New Year gift or present (see Main Photo).
