Decorate candles to supplement any lesson on light and heat energy or create as gifts for family and friends.

Supplies Used: Candle, Patterned Paper, Fabric, Glue, Lace, Scissors, Ribbon, Vellum

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Wrap candle with lace or fabric of choice and secure in place. Add layers of various widths to add interest.
  2. Tie a ribbon or any material desired.
  3. Die-cut multiple Butterflies from patterned paper and vellum. Layer and adhere to body. Gently lift wings to add dimension.
  4. Adhere Butterfly to completed candle (see Main Photo).
