Mommy Window Card

Make a simple Mother's Day card.

Students create a quick and easy Window Card for Mother's Day or any day.

Supplies Used: Cardstock, Double-Sided Tape, Embroidery Needle, Embroidery Thread, Glue, Hand Punch, Parchment Paper, Scissors

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Fold a sheet of orange cardstock or construction paper to create a card. Punch holes of various sizes in the card cover (Figure A).
  2. Cut a piece of patterned paper on the diagonal and adhere to inside of card using glue, double-sided tape or other adhesive (Figure B).
  3. Cut a strip of dark orange paper and adhere to the front of the card diagonally. Cut off paper even with the edges of the card (Figure C).
  4. Die-cut TINY Flowers #2 using coordinating shades of paper. Decorate and adhere to the inside, front and window openings of the card as desired (Figure D).
  5. Handwrite or computer print the word "Mommy" on 2" x 3" rectangle of parchment paper. Attach the parchment to the front of the card using glue or other adhesive (Main Photo).
