Following a discussion on selected religious quotes, students will reflect on their learning and appreciation for God's love. Students may include favorite quotes, sayings and special prayers for journal writing and future reference.Creating the Prayer Book: 1.
Fold several white sheets of 8 1/2 " x 11" paper in half to create pages of a prayer book. Fold cream construction paper or cardstock in half to create the book cover. Insert the pages in the cover and staple along the spine (Figure A).2.
Die-cut the LG Words, God is Love in gold, silver and brown construction paper. Attach the gold Words to the center of the cream book. Cut highlights from the gold and brown papers. Adhere the highlights to the Words, God is Love.3.
Write "My Prayer Book" on the lower right hand corner of the book.Creating the Bookmark: 4.
Cut a 2 1/4" x 6" piece of brown construction paper to create the matching bookmark. Punch a hole at the top center of the bookmark.5.
Die-cut Tiny Hearts to hang from the bookmark. Cut a 12" gold cord. Sandwich each end of the cord between two hearts and adhere (Figure B).6.
Hold the ends and squeeze the midpoint of the opposite end through the hole punch. Push the hearts up, through the loop and tighten (Figure C).
