Slide together an easy-to-assemble Rocket for student use.

Can use either AllStar or SureCut Dies.



Build creative rockets for hands-on learning about space exploration. This is a fun lesson for the Solar System unit. Discuss preparation required for space travel and physical effects on the body.

Note: This lesson can be created using either Ellison AllStar or SureCut Dies.

Supplies Used: Cardstock, Glue, Scissors, Tape

The teacher will die-cut the materials for student use prior to the lesson.

  1. Die-cut the 3-D Rocket using cardstock or other heavy paper.
  2. Decorate the Rocket pieces while flat.
  3. Slide the decorated Rockets together using the slits (see Main Photo).

Science: Earth and Space Science

  • As a result of activities in grades K-4, all students should develop an understanding of objects in the sky.
  • As a result of activities in grades 5-8, all students should develop an understanding of earth in the solar system.

Science: Physical Science

  • As a result of activities in grades K-4, all students should develop an understanding of position and motion of objects.
  • As a result of activities in grades 5-8, all students should develop an understanding of motions and forces.

Science: Technology

  • As a result of activities in grades K-8, all students should develop an understanding about science and technology.
