Whether you're looking to travel or stay local, we think you can create a mini adventure regardless of your budget and we're out to prove it. Get that pen and paper ready and follow us!
Most teachers use the summer months as the ideal time to travel. Make sure to seize this opportunity, even if it's just a staycation. Grab a couple friends and stay at a hotel in your own hometown, or just an hour away and enjoy quality time together! If you have the chance to travel far, jump on a plane to a new place you’ve never been!
2. Nap Time
We said we could make an adventure out of anything and why should nap time be any different? Although this isn't a super exciting idea, it sure is a nice treat for teachers! During the school year, teachers have no time to just lay down and take a nap during the day. Grab your favorite towel or blanket and lay on the grass and take a nice nap in the middle of the afternoon because you finally can! Here are some napping tips if you need some encouragement.
3. Find A New Hobby
During the school year, teachers are often too busy to pursue a new hobby. Luckily, Summer is the perfect time to try out that new hot yoga class or dance it up at Zumba. Step outside your comfort zone and try something new, you may just find your new hobby! Here's a list of 100 different ideas to get you started.
Grab a cup of coffee with the friends you didn't get as much time with as hoped during the school year. Often times teachers find their school months being spent with teachers because they are at school. Luckily summer gives teachers extra time to rekindle old friendships.
Spend summer picking out new favorite books or rereading your old favorites. Teachers finally get the chance to read things they want to read, not just the books that are helpful to their class. Check out this drool-worthy Summer reading list to grab your next story adventure.
6. Sleep In And Exercise More
Summer gives teachers more flexible hours to do what they choose. Whether that means waking up at 6 to get a full day of fun or sleeping until 10, you get to pick. The other great part about summer is getting to exercise during the day. Take advantage of the warm afternoons and take a stroll around the neighborhood or try out that Tuesday morning spin class at 10 a.m. that you’ve never been able to attend.
7. Road Trips
This is a fairly inexpensive adventure for you and your spouse or friends. Pack up your tent, and camping supplies and get ready to hit the road. Long hours in the car will leave room for endless laughs and conversations, and exploring new places is exciting! Get your wanderlust on with this road trip list.
8. Revamp Your Own Home
Summer is a great time to discover new styles for your home. With a little extra time on your hands, it's a great opportunity to recreate those home DIY’s you saw on Pinterest a few months ago. Recreate a kitchen you want to spend all your time in, or dust off the old furniture and create it into a beautiful new piece.
9. Take Advantage Of Seasonal Opportunities
The summer months bring lots of fun events in your local community. Whether its a concert in a park, a cookout or a movie night, check out what your town has to offer. Most of these events are typically free and not just limited to people in their specific city. Invite a few friends and pack a picnic and enjoy a beautiful summer evening with free entertainment!
10. Binge Watch An Entire Netflix Series
No longer having to wake up at the crack of dawn to get into your class in time allows teachers the ability to stay up later at night. With all this extra time you may be wondering what you should do late at night, no worries Netflix has your back. Teachers summer is the perfect time to start and finish the TV shows you’ve always wanted to watch or dive into a new adventures show.
