Hey, it's Leica here, back with a quick fun craft for Halloween. It is just around the corner. What better way to get ready for it than to create felt masks? It is a very easy thing and rather affordable to do in your class. I used about 1/2 sheet of felt per student. I purchase the felt at our dollar store (we're in Canada). We can get 10 sheets for a dollar or 5 for a dollar of the thicker stuff. So the cost is pretty reasonable. Aside from the felt you just need glue and elastic!
Begin cutting out all the pieces using the Ellison Prestige Pro machine or an Ellison SuperStar Excel, and the Ellison SureCut Die - Mask, Make Believe - Double Cut. This die cuts felt so crisp and perfect that all the details are cut perfectly every time. I LOVE that.
When I took it to school, I arranged all the parts on the table and let the kids mix and match colors. It is far more exciting to see their choices.
It is neat to see how the kids begin to build their masks.
Here are some examples of completed masks!
