You can also find helpful information about our machines and dies throughout our website, along with inspiring projects and lesson plans for all grade levels. But right now, let’s begin with the essentials.
What is die-cutting?
Die-cutting is a fast and easy way to cut the perfect shape every time from a variety of materials—including multiples. When paired with one of our hand-operated machines, a steel-rule die works just like a cookie cutter and can quickly cut a curriculum-based shape for countless learning opportunities.
What makes die-cutting better than scissors?
Cutting out individual letters and shapes with scissors can take a lot of time, effort and even a few aching hands along the way. Die-cutting eliminates this tedious task, making it fast, fun and easy to make the same perfect shape over and over again.
What materials can I use?
Ellison brand machines can cut and emboss many materials*, including:
- Chipboard & Mat Board
- Construction Paper
- Craft Metal
- Craft Plastic
- Poly Foam
- Shrink Plastic
- Wood Veneer
*For more information, please view each product’s complete material compatibility.
What types of projects can I create?
Ellison products can be used for a wide range of school projects and activities. Use your Ellison machines, dies and punches for the following:
