Special “Ellison Cares” Packages Sent to Schools Impacted by Disaster

LAKE FOREST, Calif. (Oct. 12, 2011) – Ellison, the inventor and leading manufacturer of die-cutting for the classroom, reached out to schools impacted by the recent tornadoes in the Southern and Midwestern United States with special “Ellison Cares” packages. The packages provide teachers with much-needed relief in the form of essential tools to motivate their students to achieve despite many challenges.

Consisting of an Ellison® AllStar® Die-Cutting Machine and compatible dies to cut curriculum-based shapes, the Ellison Cares package offers affected educators the chance to get back to preparing lessons and motivating their students to learn in a fun and memorable way.

“Our hearts went out immediately to these schools when we heard the news of the devastation from the tornadoes; we wanted to help the best way we could,” said Ellison CEO, Kristin Highberg. “As a family-run company that was founded by educators for educators everywhere, we understand how we’re all connected as educators and, more importantly, as human beings.”

Ellison Cares packages were distributed in tornado areas such as Alabama, Tennessee and Missouri, including one of the hardest hit areas: Joplin, Mo., with approximately 50 AllStar Machines and assorted die bundles donated to affected schools, districts and media centers.
